Actor John Abraham is a celebrated star of Bollywood Industry. He is a model turned actor and has tried his hands in almost all the genre of movies, be it comedy, action, drama or romance. Recently he turned into a producer too and now has been doing more of action movies.
The actor born on 17th December 1972, started his career as a model and worked in various ramp shows and advertisements. In 2003, he made his debut in the film industry with the movie ‘Jism’ opposite Bipasha Basu and won the Best Debut award for his role. And same year the actor was seen in movies like ‘Saaya’, ‘Paap’ and ‘Aetbaar’ which did average business.
Then in 2004 actor appeared in ‘Dhoom’ in in a negative role which went on to be his first commercial hit movie.
In the year 2005, the actor was seen in 5 movies, ‘Elaan’, ‘Karam’, ‘Kaal’, ‘Viruddh’, ‘Water’ and ‘Garam Masala’. Out of all the movies, only Movie ‘Kaal’ did a favourable business and ‘Water’ that was made by Deepa Mehta, got acclaimed and was nominated for the Academy Awards. Rest all others were average or below average at the Box Office.
Then in 2006, the actor appeared in the movie ‘Zinda’ where he again won an award for his negative portrayal. Apart from it the same year he was seen in ‘Taxi No.9211’, ‘Baabul’, ‘Kabul Express’ which were substantially successful.
In 2007 the actor’s first release was ‘Salaam-E- Ishq’ which was multi starrer but it failed to do well at Indian Box Office, however it was well received overseas. The Same year his thriller, ‘No Smoking’ and Sports movie ‘DhanDhanaDhan Goal’ were also released.
In 2008, John was seen in ‘Dostana’ with Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan which was hit movie and that was the only movie of his that year.
In 2012 the actor moved on to become a producer with movie ‘Vicky Donor’ which became a critical and commercial success.
Lately, the actor has been seen doing hard core action movies and has emerged as an action hero with a movie like ‘Force 2’, ‘Madras Café’, ‘Shoot Out At Wadala’ and ‘Dishoom’.
