Salman Khan’s most anticipated movie ‘Tubelight’ that released on 23rd of June, went on to get mixed reviews from the critics and the audience. The movie got the lowest opening, considering the hype usually all the Salman Khan Movies have to it and earned only 21 crores on its first day, which is the lowest considering Salman’s releases from past the few years.
BollywoodCat brings to you the 5 reasons on why the movie failed to live up to its hype.
Reason 1 – A Non-Action Film
Salman Khan Movie minus action is equal to a non-happening movie. All Salman Khan Fans are so much in love with Salman’s Dabangg style that a movie that showed him powerless (or rather helpless) just didn’t work. The movie had a scene where he slaps actor Zeeshan Ayyub, but those slaps just couldn’t help the movie.
Reason 2 – Expectations from Salman Kabir Duo
The movie was Salman and Kabir’s third collaboration. The earlier two movies of the duo ‘Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ fared really well at the Box office and hence the expectations from ‘Tubelight’ were way too high.
Reason 3 – Less Scenes Of Brothers' Bonding
The best part of the movie ‘Tubelight’ is no doubt the first half –an-hour, where we get to see the brotherly bond of Laxman and Bharat played by real-life brothers Salman and Sohail. The two brother’s chemistry on screen was the main highlight of the movie and we feel more of their brotherly bond on screen would have definitely helped the movie.
Reason 4 – Bajrangi Bhaijaan Hangover
Salman Khan’s last movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ had all the essential ingredients, India and Pakistan angle, Action, Romance, Drama, and Comedy. The best part of the movie was that in the movie the protagonist leaves for a journey all the way to Pakistan which adds to the thrill and adventure.
From the trailers of movie Tubelight, it seemed that this time again Salman is set to embark a journey to another neighbouring country China to stop the war and get his brother back. But to our surprise, the movie doesn’t move from one location. This is another factor that made the story stagnant and boring.
Reason 5 – Salman Portraying a role of a Man with special needs
The actor Salman Khan got praises for his role of a simple-suave Hanuman Bhakt in his movie ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ and probably hence the actor thought of playing the challenging role of a man with childlike mind and understanding. No doubts it is one of the most difficult acts and Salman Khan has outdone the role with his brilliant acting skills, but the problem is with his fans who couldn’t gulp down his portrayal, because of his otherwise, macho and action hero aura.
