A long time ago, actress Radhika Apte found herself in the middle of a controversy when her alleged nude pictures went viral on the internet. However, she quickly denied that the photos were hers, claiming that the images were of someone else who merely resembled her. This type of issue isn't unique, as actress Neha Mahajan also faced a similar situation with certain explicit scenes from her film Chaayam Poosiya Veedu circulating online.
The film Chaayam Poosiya Veedu was banned by the Censor Board due to its nude scenes. The Board had demanded that the filmmakers remove these scenes, but the filmmakers refused, arguing that the nudity was integral to the story. According to them, cutting those scenes would have diminished the essence of the film. When the filmmakers stood their ground, the Censor Board decided to ban the film entirely. Despite this, a year after the ban, the nude scenes featuring Neha Mahajan have continued to go viral on the internet, stirring discussions.
In response to the controversy, Neha openly acknowledged that the nude scenes were hers. She admitted that before shooting those scenes, she had consulted with her parents and received their approval to proceed. Neha's statement highlights her confidence in her decision and the support she received from her family.
This incident brings to light the ongoing struggle between filmmakers and the Censor Board over explicit content. Films like Udta Punjab, starring Shahid Kapoor, and Mohalla Assi, featuring Sunny Deol, also faced challenges with censorship, particularly for their portrayal of controversial and bold subjects. As the internet continues to be a platform for uncensored content, filmmakers are finding new ways to share stories that challenge societal norms, even as they face regulatory obstacles.
