Ponniyin Selvan: Directed by Mani Ratnam, Ponniyin Selvan is an upcoming historical Tamil movie, slated to release in January, 2021. The movie is based on the historic novel by Kalki Krishnamurthy carrying the same name, Ponniyin Selvan. The story is based on the life of the prince Arulmozhi Varman's travels in Chola country and Sri Lanka, who later becomes Raja Raja I. The role of the king will be essayed by Vijay. The movie is set to release in two parts.
