A few weeks ago, we came to know that Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ gets into copyright issue when a filmmaker Praveen Vyas came with the allegations that the movie’s plot is similar to his 2016 feature film ‘Mainini’. Well, as soon as that problem got over another came on its way.
Now news is coming that a Filmmaker from Rajasthan, Praatik Sharma made the allegations that the punchline of the movie ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ is copied from his movie ‘Gutrun Gutar Gun’. A case was filed by Sharma against the makers of ‘Toilet; Ek Prem Katha’ on 7th July in Jaipur Metropolitan Court.
Sharma said, “I made the film in 2015, but due to lack money we couldn’t release it. But this year, the movie is finally releasing on July 28, but the distributors backed out by saying that our film is similar to ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’. Personally, I don’t have any problem with that, but the fact is that my movie was made before that, and it’s unfair.”
He also said that they even sent the movie to the film festivals like Delhi International Film Festival, Indian Film Festival Melbourne, Australia and Rajasthan International Film Festival. He hopes that he will get justice in the court.
However, the makers of ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ has completely denied the allegations. This is not something new for the writers Siddharth and Giramia. Recently, when Sushant Singh Rajput starrer ‘Raabta’ was released they faced a similar problem.
