After a filmmaker makes a movie, the next big challenge that he has to face is to get an approval from the censor board. Recently we saw how the movie ‘Indu Sarkar’ struggled with 14 cuts and now the next movie in CBFC radar is ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’.
The movie features Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a role of a contract shooter, and the CBFC chief has condemned the movie for extensive use of abusive language and sex scenes and has given it an ‘A’ Certificate (Adult Only Certificate) and 42 cuts.
Not only this the producer of the movie Kiran Shroff has revealed how she was treated at the office of CBFC by it members. She opened up about the inappropriate gender discriminative remarks that were passed at her.
She shared that when she went up to the CBFC members to discuss about the certification one of the members, questioned her being a woman how she could make a film with so many abuses and before she could respond it, the other member commented on her attire by stating she is not even dressed appropriately as woman should.
The director of the movie Kushan Nandy also came forward and shared that such behaviour with a female producer is unforgivable.
The Indian Film and Television Directors’ Association have come out in support of ‘Babumoshai Bandookbaaz’ and Kiran Shroff and have written a letter to the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Smriti Irani about the alleged humiliation of producer.
