Badrinath Ki Dulhania is just not a time pass film-Varun Dhawan

Varun Dhawan's latest release Badrinath Ki Dulhania is minting money at the box office, and he is obviously overjoyed. “It is a great feeling. It is not just a time pass film, it conveys a message and the good thing is that the message is reaching people. More than the critics it is important that the audience reacts to it. It was felt that March being the exam season, it may affect the film. But people are still thronging theaters and I am grateful for that,” says Varun, further adding, “I don’t know the figures and I have nothing to do with the collection or with these Rs 100 and 200 crore clubs. I do films just to entertain people and I am happy that the film is doing well.” Going forward, the actor is excited about Judwaa 2, which will be helmed by his director-father, David Dhawan, and post that is Shoojit Sircar’s film on a dark, gritty subject. Both, Shoojit and Varun are tight-lipped about the project, however, Varun says, “There is something that Shoojit has narrated to me which I really liked. I wanted to work with him ever since I watched Vicky Donor.  I also loved his Madras Cafe. I will start shooting for the film after Judwaa 2. It is not like Badlapur for sure, it’s a Shoojit Sircar film and he is very good at whatever he does.” It was earlier reported that Salman Khan will do a cameo in Judwaa 2 and now it is also heard that Salman’s guest appearance will actually be a double role. He will appear in Judwaa 2 as the original characters, ‘Raja’ and ‘Prem’ 20 years later. Also, rumors have it that Salman will be sharing screen space with Varun’s two characters and the sequence is being designed as a highlight in the film. On this Varun reacts, “I don’t want to say anything, I want people to be surprised.”  However, Varun reveals that he will bring in a variation to the character of 'Raja', as the tapori of the present era will be different from that of the 90s. “Taporis these days even send WhatsApp messages it’s a shame that we don’t make tapori movies. We should. But there will definitely be a big change in Raja's character.”
