Bollywood Actor Irrfan Khan Passes Away At Age 53 In Mumbai, Battling Colon Infection

The entire nation is left shocked and saddened by the demise of Irrfan Khan, one of the most talented and loved actors in the entertainment industry. Legendary actor, Irrfan Khan, had an untimely, unfortunate death early morning today i.e., April 29. The versatile actor lost his life while battling colon infection in Mumbai's Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The news of his sad demise was broken to the world by filmmaker Shoojit Sircar who took to his Twitter account to write: "My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute". Irrfan Khan's official team confirmed the sad news by releasing an official statement which read: "I trust, I have surrendered". The heartfelt words were expressed by the late actor in a note that he had written back in 2018, in an attempt to open up and accept his ongoing fight with cancer. The entire Bollywood industry is grieving for the loss of the legendary star by taking to their social handles to express their sorrow and cherish the beautiful memories and bond they shared with the actor.

Irrfan Khan had been taking treatment in the United Kingdom against deadly cancer. The unfortunate event has left behind his wife, Sutapa Sikdar and their sons, Babil and Ayan, mourning for their husband and father. Irrfan had been battling neuroendocrine tumor since 2018, the confirmation of which the actor had himself shared through his official Twitter handle. The death of the untimely, sad demise of the iconic star came three days after he lost his 95-year-old mother, Saeeda Begum in Jaipur. Unfortunately, Irrfan was not able to attend his mother's funeral due to the nationwide lockdown followed by the coronavirus pandemic. Irrfan Khan had started his career with the movie, Salaam Bombay!, back in 1988. The actor had not looked back since and delivered back-to-back hit movies like Kasoor, Life In A Metro, Krazzy 4, New York, Paan Singh Tomar, Gunday, Haider, Talvar, Piku, Hindi Medium and many other movies. The actor also held an international recognition as he has worked in British and Hollywood projects, like, The Warrior, The Namesake, Slumdog Millionaire, Life Of Pi, Inferno and several others.

"As if I was tasting life for the first time, the magical side of it.", the actor had said in his heartfelt note to the world. The entire world, today, is left mourning for the renowned, talented actor. The actor never lost hope as he had kept battling the deadly disease for almost 2 years. It is unfortunate that this day has brought to the world the loss of one of the finest actors the Bollywood industry had. Indeed, we lost a gem today.
