Last week was not very good for ‘Box Office’. The movies released last week were ‘Raabta’ and ‘Behen Hogi Teri’, and both the films failed miserably. ‘Raabta’ was expected to open big but just managed to earn 5 crores on its first day.
However, this week the movies which will hit the screens are Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi’s starrer ‘Bank Chor’ and Sharib Hashmi’s ‘Phullu’. Apparently, ‘Phullu’ is not a commercial movie; it carries a social message through the story. ‘Bank Chor’, on the other hand, is a comedy film.
In terms of Box Office collection ‘Bank Chor’ will beat ‘Phullu’ easily. We feel that the movies are not releasing on a safe date. Next week, the most awaited movie of the year ‘Tubelight’ will release and it will kick every film out of the theatre. So, these movies just have one week to shine and considering the fact that people are still choosing ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams’ over any film. And ‘Raabta’ is the latest example of that, we can say that movies are not safe.
Talking about Box Office collection, ‘Bank Chor’ will earn around 80 lakh to 1 crore on the first day, 1 crore to 1.5 crores on the second day and around 2 crores on Sunday. For lifetime collection, we can speculate that the movie will have just 4-5 crores. We have seen that solo films of both Riteish Deshmukh and Vivek Oberoi have not done well. So, 4-5 cores are quite safe for them.
‘Phullu’ will not attract the audience to the theatre as we predict. These types of movies are not meant for theatres. The movie will not collect more than 1 crore or even less than that in its lifetime collection.
