Akshaye Khanna is promoting his upcoming movie ‘Mom’ with Sridevi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. In a recent interview, he was asked about the censor board and censoring the word Intercourse in ‘Jab Harry Met Sejal’.
In the reply, Akshaye Khanna said, “I don’t agree with the Censor Board, it is an outdated concept, completely unacceptable to a majority of the society today. You really think that censoring a word in a film will change the things. I don’t think so. Right now, it is the time of Internet and social media, people can access the information from anywhere and no one can stop them”.
He also stated that they just can’t say that a certain word or a scene should not be the part of a movie. There is a lot of hard work and dedication to make contents of the audience. If the film requires, it should have. “I don’t think I will have a problem with it. But it has to be absolutely essential to the story,” he said.
Talking as an actor he said “As an actor, you cannot say ‘I can’t do this’, it’s your job, and especially in today’s cinema. Sometimes you have to be mentally comfortable with it”.
Akshaye will be next seen as a cop in ‘MOM’ with Sridevi and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The movie will release on 7th July and has a lot of expectations with it. It will mark 300th movie of Sridevi, which is a big accomplishment, she will be the fourth actor to do so.
