Five Films That Fell Flat At The Box Office

Half of the year has passed and we have witnessed some successful and some unsuccessful movies of Bollywood. The year started with a clash of two big banners and two movies featuring big stars ‘Raees’ and ‘Kabil’. Both the movies got a favorable response, followed by ‘Jolly LLB 2’ and ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya’. But the biggest of all was witnessed last month, the ‘Baahubali 2’ which smashed all the records and made 1500 crore worldwide. Where we saw some movies taking Box Office by storm, there were some which failed to impress the audience. Here we enlist five such movies which were expected to do a fair business at the box office but they instead fell flat. SARKAR 3:- With an impressive star cast 'Sarkar 3' was one of the most anticipated movies of the year. After nine years, Ram Gopal Verma finally came with the third part of the franchise and it failed miserably at the box office. The third installment of the series stood out to be the weakest one of all three. The movie was made with a budget of Rs. 35 crores and it could earn only 9.25 crore. MERI PYARI BINDU:- This movie was released on the same day as 'Sarkar 3' and had a similar faith at the Box Office. The movie which was marked as the return of a fitter version of Parineeti Chopra didn’t impress the audience at all. The film earned 9.25 crore and failed to make any profits. NOOR:- Sonakshi Sinha’s starrer ‘Noor’ had nothing special either. With the weak direction and weak storyline, Noor was a huge disappointment. Though Sonakshi was impressive in the movie yet she failed to drive the audience to the theatres. With 22 crores of its production, the film managed to get just 6.6 crores. BEGUM JAAN:- ‘Begum Jaan’, actually had the potential to do big. But the immature direction of the movie came in its way. The talented actresses like Vidya Balan and Gauhar Khan could also not save the film from failing at the Box Office. The movie made 19.75 crores and failed to make any profit. NAAM SHABANA: - The prequel of 2015 intense thriller ‘Baby’, ‘Naam Shabana’ was expected to make big. The biggest problem with the movie was that everyone thought that it will be like ‘Baby’, but the movie had a completely different storyline. Even an impressive performance of Taapsee Pannu couldn't save the film. It was made on a budget of 40 crores and earned just 33.25 crores.
