.Releasing over 1200 screens pan India, Fukrey Returns has reportedly amassed 8.10 crores at the box office on Day 1. According to a recent box office collection report, the film has registered 20 percent occupancy on day 1.
Though the movie was released pan across the country, Northern parts did comparatively well with the national capital Delhi being the top collection center.
As always, the box office collection is affected by a number of facts like the audience occupancy. Till date, only those movies which have gained a decent first-day collection became hits. Yet, now it is not yet the time to give a verdict as its success can be analyzed only after its collection reports are available on Monday.
Made at a total budget of INR 30.00 crores (including 20 crores of production cost and other 10 crores for promotional and advertising cost), Fukrey Returns is likely to earn the production cost in a week's time. As per the latest collection reports the movie will collect approximately 100 crore worldwide.
The sequel to 2013-release comedy movie Fukrey received mixed reviews from the critics and fans. These reviews, however, are not likely to affect the box office collection as its prequel was well received by the audience. The first-day box office collection reports too approve the same.
When the prequel is a hit, the expectations soar high. This might negatively affect the movie as well.
The Fukrey brand might help the movie run smoothly through the first couple of days or until the weekend. The real verdict will be out on the first Monday. We will have to wait till then to get a real picture how well this film is doing at the Box office.
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the star cast of Fukrey Returns include Pulkit Samrat, Manjot Singh, Varun Sharma, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Priya Anand and Richa Chadha. Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani produce the film under the banner of Excel Entertainment.
