Rohit Shetty’s ‘Golmaal Again’ is slowly becoming one of the biggest films of 2017, the movie was released on 20^th November this year with Aamir Khan starrer ‘Secret Superstar’, well that didn’t make any difference for the movie. It had the biggest opener of 2017 with around 30 crores, which is huge and it now with approx. 180 crores. People were waiting for this film for quite some time now, the last installment of the franchise came in 2010 and fans waited seven years of this film, so it was pretty obvious that this will have a good run. Now, this Friday was very crucial for the movie, we didn’t saw any big film last week, which helped ‘Golmaal Again’ to continue its dominance, but this week things were different, we had the release of Sidharth Malhotra and Sonakshi Sinha’s suspense-thriller ‘Ittefaq’, which is the sequel of 1969 movie of the same name. The movie was expected to at least put a break on Golmaal’s collection. Well, ‘Ittefaq’, opened with a decent 4.05 crores, which is quite good a movie like this but it didn’t put any break on ‘Golmaal’s collection. Ajay Devgn’s film collected 2.04 crores on the third Friday, which is amazing. Now, we also had the release of Hollywood’s much-anticipated movie ‘Thor: Ragnarok’, which performed exceptionally well and collected approx. 7 crores but again didn’t stop ‘Golmaal Again’. ‘Golmaal Again’ is now slowly moving in the 200 crore club, the movie is now with 183.93 crores and the way it’s going we will soon see it surpassing the mark of 200 crores, and the fact that there is no big movie in the line to release for next few weeks support this prediction.
