Director Umesh Shukla who has helmed movies like ‘OMG - Oh My God!’, ‘All Is Well’ and ‘Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge’ has recently been asked to direct the remake of the Korean blockbuster ‘Miracle in Cell No 7’ in Hindi.
Kross Pictures, the international production house, which produced the critically acclaimed movie ‘Te3n’ last year has now signed a deal with Indian Film Studios to co- produce the official Hindi remake of comedy and heartwarming family drama.
The story of the movie is about a mentally challenged man who lives happily with her daughter but due to some circumstances is imprisoned in a wrong case of murder and there he builds friendships with hardened criminals in his cell. In order to help him, the criminals plan to reunite the man with his daughter by smuggling her into the prison.
The movie was among the six highest grossing movies in Korea, and its global Box Office Collection was around Rs 500 crore.
The director of the movie was recently in the news when an image of his upcoming movie ‘102 Not Out’ surfaced on the Internet. The image showcased Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor together in old man avatars. The movie is based on a hit Gujarati play by the same name and the story of the movie is weaved around a 102-year-old father and his 75 years old son.
