The Bollywood’s own Greek God, Hrithik Roshan is a talented actor. The actor was born on 10th of January 1974 to actor and filmmaker Rakesh Roshan.
Hrithik started appearing in movies since his young age, he did short cameos in many movies and that is what drew him towards acting in movies. When the actor was in his early 20’s he was diagnosed with scoliosis, a spinal disorder, that not allow him to perform stunts and dance, which were the two important things to be a successful Bollywood star. Apart from it the actor also had a stammering issue at a very young age.
But the determination the actor had, and the will to conquer all the obstacles, got him where he is now. Hrithik started his career in the lead role with his father’s directed romantic drama ‘Kaho Na Pyaar Hai’ opposite Amisha Patel. The actor went under rigorous training for the role, he trained with actor Salman Khan to get a good physique, and improved his diction, took lessons for dancing, acting, fencing and riding.
The movie came with a bang and gave Bollywood its new superstar. The movie was blockbuster and turned out to be the highest grossing one of the year 2000. The actor was loved in the movie for his free flowing dance moves, polished acting skills, action. He also bagged the Best Male Debut and Best Male Actor Filmfare award that year.
His next movie was a crime drama ‘Fiza’ where he was seen playing the role of a young Muslim boy, who is pushed by the society to become a terrorist. Though the titular role in the movie was played by Karishma Kapoor, however, it definitely benefitted Hrithik too, as with the movie helped him expand his horizons as an actor.
He did many successful movies after that like ‘Mission Kashmir’, ‘KabhiKhushiKabhiGham’ ‘Yaadein’, but then came a dull period when the actor was seen in movies like ‘MujhseDostiKaroge’, ‘Main Prem Ki DiwaniHoon’, and more and they all turned to be below average at the Box Office.
In 2003, Hrithik’s career was revived by his father’s another super hit offering ‘Koi Mil Gaya’. The actor was now selective with his projects and made sure he picked good projects only.
