The movie ‘Jagga Jasoos’ finally saw the day of its release yesterday on 14th of July after several delays. The movie was Anurag Basu and Ranbir Kapoor’s second collaboration after a successful venture of ‘Barfi’.
The Movie ‘Barfi’ was a story of a speech impaired character named Murfy and his love tale with a special child girl played by Priyanka Chopra. The movie received much accolades and appreciation for exceptional acting, direction, story and its execution. And probably looking at that Director Anurag Basu decided to create another story which revolved around a character who is again speech impaired but this time the issue is his stammering and thus the character communicates with songs to make a conversation.
The movie looked quite pleasing and interesting from the trailers and series of songs, and apart from that, the director-actor duo made it one of the most awaited movies. But this time the movie, failed to impress the audience.
The movie made in an overwhelming budget of Rs. 75 Crores and released on 1800 screen across the country, the movie opened on the first day with 25 -30 % occupancy and registered a Box Office collection of around 8.57 crores on its opening day.
Though the movie is a real delight to eyes with mesmerising visuals and at sometimes they are almost breathtaking but alas- it couldn’t save the movie. Now let us wait and watch the weekend collection on the movie to get a clear picture on whether it turns to be a hit or a flop.
