STORY:- A village is affected because of climate change and lack of rainfall, a blind farmer dealing with debt recovery have to save his son from the debt trap in future.
PLOT:- When the trailer of this movie came out last month, we were all excited about it, it is the first Indian film dealing with climate change, which is a very important issue in our country and it’s been untouched in our Industry. Nila Madhab Panda, the director of this film, who has directed movies like ‘I Am Kalam’ in the past, took a very critical issue, wrote a very strong story around it and sealed it with a film and he has done a great job as a filmmaker here.
To, be honest, 'Kadvi Hawa' is not for everyone, it is actually depressing and there’s no happy ending but this film is not for that, this film is not for entertainment, this film is here to show a very strong story around a very important and critical issue, which we don’t see as a big problem, but this movie shows that it affects millions of lives. Now, Sanjai Mishra, who is just getting better and better with his age is phenomenal in this movie, as a blind man, he is believable and done an awesome job, he has always impressed us in his performances in his every film and here also he gives a very strong performance, which will be remembered for a long time.
The movie sets in a small village of Rajasthan and the director has done a great job to show that place in this movie. Ranvir Shorey, who has played the role of a lone recovery officer, is also good in his job, he has also a history of losing his father in Orissa flood, and he wants his remaining family to move in with him before anything happens. Deu, played by Sanjai Mishra helps him to recover the money from the villagers. The film not only tackles the climate change but also shows the story behind it, which is the positive thing here; it gives the depressing reality of life, which quite frankly is hard-hitting. People who love to watch light-hearted comedies for entertainment will not like this film, but this film is clearly not for them.
Now, this is not a perfect film, there are few flaws here and there but the performance by Sanjai Mishra gives it the bye, he is at the point right now, where he doesn’t need to be judged by his performance, he is just exploring himself, he thing he has done in this movie needs a lot of guts to do, and no one would have done it better than him, a half-naked man in a dhoti playing a blind man, he just a great actor, who will be remembered for his work.
Overall, this is a must watch film for those who love to watch good cinema, this will surely make you think about this issue; well, it will make you think about life in general.
WHY TO WATCH:- This movie is strictly not for everyone, people who go to watch movies for entertainment will not digest this film, but this is a must watch for those who love good cinema, you will walk out with a lot of thoughts in your mind after watching this film.
