Plot: The movie is about a man Kallu Kabaadi, a poor junk dealer who gets rich overnight. After he strikes gold, he moves to a posh locality in a posh bungalow and tries to mingle with the new found neighbours and friends, while forgetting and ignoring his old neighbours and friends. But soon he realises that money can’t buy him love and acceptance from his new wealthy neighbours.
Review: The movie 'Mr. Kabaadi' had hype around it, as this was the last movie of late actor Om Puri and the movie was directed by his ex-wife Seema Kapoor. But it might have been promoted that way but the movie actually belongs to Actor Annu Kapoor, and he is the main character around which the story of the movie revolves, whereas Om Puri is just the narrator, who plays the role of a hawker who sells surma and itr on the streets of Lucknow. So the main plot around which the movie revolves is the life of Kallu Kabadi (Annu Kapoor) his rag picker wife Chando (Sarika) and his kids Chaman (Rajeev Singh) and Meethi (Ulka Gupta). Now when Kallu becomes rich overnight he moves to a new place, new house in order to cut his ties with his old life. He starts despising the other junk dealers and cuts all his links in order to form the new ones as he feels that now he belongs to different strata of the society in the process of changing things in his life, he also changes his name to Mr. KK.
The movie is an attempt to a social satire and is funny only in bits and pieces. The acting of the actors is good and that is the only good thing about the movie. The movie is full of songs and the music sounds the same. The movie is a debut of Rajeev Singh and Kashish Vora and they both have done a decent job.
Why To Watch: The movie is a one-time watch. Late actor Om Puri is flawless in the movie and this mark to be his last movie. Annu Kapoor has done a good job as Mr. Kabaadi and he deserves all the appreciation.
