Plot: The story of the movie ‘Munna Michael’ is about an orphan named Munna who is brought up by a backstage dancer Michael who lived in a Mumbai chawl, the role played by Ronit Roy. Being in a company of a dancer tiger turns out to be an amazing dancer and idolises the pop sensation, Michael Jackson. His dream in life is to make it big as a dancer and be like the legendary dancer and singer. On his journey of making his dreams into reality, he comes across, Mahindar Fauji role played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui, who wishes to learn dance from Tiger to impress a girl. But the things turn ugly between the two when they happened to fall for the same girl.
Review: With Tiger Shroff in the movie, a great script or storyline is actually not required. The actor has a huge fan following amongst youth for his impeccable dance moves and fights. This time again actor Tiger Shroff is back with his dance moves in ‘Munna Michael’ where he plays a role of a die-hard fan of the pop star Michael Jackson.
Shroff’s previous movies like Heropanti and Baaghi also mounted on his dancing and fight scenes and glimpses of his chiselled body. And this time too, the movie has only Dance, Fight scenes. The story of the movie is very mundane and predictable. In fact, we predicted the story from the trailers only. Even actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, is underutilised in the movie.
It is really sad to see Nawaz making such poor choices with the movies he is picking, the actor has much more potential and when we actually see him doing such miniscule roles you actually feel sad.
In the movie, Tiger Shroff’s as a street brat doing fancy dance moves inspired by Michael Jackson is the only good thing about the movie. The bromance scenes of Nawaz and Tiger are also good and engaging and you wish that they could have last a little longer in the movie. The actress Nidhhi Agerwal is an average performer in the movie.
Abou the direction of the movie, Director Sabbir Khan had previously directed Tiger in ‘Heropanti’, ‘Baaghi’ and this was their third venture together. We understand the duo’s camaraderie but in our view, Tiger should now move on from the Director Sabbir Khan and explore some more roles that do not involve dance and action and that would definitely help him in his career.
The music of the movie Munna Michael is Foot tapping and the song Ding Dang is a catchy number.
Why To Watch: If you are Dancer at heart you must go and experience the movie. Tiger once again dances like magic in the movie; we wish we could have said that for his acting too. The Tiger and Nawaz’s bromance scenes are full of chuckles and are very entertaining and so are the action sequences.
