It is indeed sad news for all the fans that were eagerly waiting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s movie ‘Padmavati’ which was all set to release on 17th of November. Earlier also this news surfaced that the movie might get postponed from its present release date, but then the news was declined by the people close to the project.
But now from a very close and reliable source, the news has come that it is true the movie’s release has been shifted from November 17 to April next year.
The period drama that revolves around the life of the beautiful queen of Mewar Padmavati, the role played by Deepika Padukone has been written, directed and co-produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The movie has Shahid Kapoor playing the role of Rana Rawal Ratan Singh and Ranveer Singh playing, Alauddin Khilji, the movie also has Aditi Rao Hydari.
The reason behind the delay has been that the post-production of the film will take months. There are various battle scenes which need a lot of VFX and that’s the major reason the film has been postponed.
The makers also said that the movie is made on a whopping budget of Rs. 150 Crores (approx), so the movie needs a prolonged weekend to recover its cost on its release and in November there are no such holidays.
While a source close to Sanjay Leela Bhansali is still denying and stating that the news is untrue.
