The 67-year-old actor Paresh Rawal stated that he would love to work in Pakistani serials and films. He said that artists and cricketer are not the ones who throw bombs, they are not terrorists. Instead, they bridge the gap between two countries.
Praising Pakistani TV serials, he said, “I love all the Pakistani TV serials and ‘Humsafar’ is one of my favourites. I love the way they act, their story, direction, the writing everything is awesome. Our TV shows are boring, we show the same thing over and over again. I would love to be a part of their movies or serials.”
He also stated that for him his country comes first, but banning Pakistani actors on the basis that they belong to Pakistan is wrong.
Last year, after the Uri attack in September last year, Pakistani artists faced a warm heat in the Industry. Karan Johar’s ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ featuring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan came around the same time. The political parties demanded a ban on the film. But the movie did quite well at the Box Office.
Rawal is often in the news for his strong political opinion. Recently, he was in controversy, when he commented on author Arundhati Roy, where he suggested that she should be tied to an army jeep to discourage stone pelters in Kashmir.
Recently, we have seen Pakistani actors lately in ‘Hindi Medium’ and ‘Raees’. Paresh Rawal will be seen as Sunil Dutt in Sanjay Dutt’s Biopic next, which will release in March next year.
