Partition: 1947 Box Office Collection - This Friday on August 18th two Hindi movies released in theatres one was Ashwiney Iyer Tiwari’s ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ and the other was Gurinder Chaddha’s ‘Partition 1947’. Both the movies belonged to a different genre and had nothing to do with hampering others business.
While ‘Bareilly ki Barfi’ was romantic Comedy, ‘Partition 1947’was a patriotic saga and was the Hindi version of Hollywood film named “Viceroy’s House.” The movie based on the India and Pakistan partition, the movie gives us a western presentation. So far the movie has received positive reviews from the critics as well as movie enthusiast and is giving rise to a positive word of mouth.
As per our prediction, movie made on a low-budget and with less number of screens was estimated to do a business of 1 Crore, however, the movie has only managed to register Rs. 11 Lakh at the Box Office.
The movie stars Hugh Bonneville, Gillian Anderson, Manish Dayal, Huma Qureshi, Adil Hussain, Om Puri and Michael Gambon, which makes the movie less appealing to the Hindi movie goers in front of ‘Bareilly Ki Barfi’ star cast of Kriti Sanon, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rajkummar Rao.
Another reason that might hamper the growth of the movie in the coming days is Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer ‘Toilet Ek Prem Katha’ which has a large number of screens and is going strong at the Box office.
