Amid the coronavirus pandemic situation, it was decided that the iconic serial, Ramayan, would make a comeback on the Doordarshan channel. While people have been resorting to staying at home in an attempt to combat the deadly virus, it is the television and the online streaming platforms that have been coming to the rescue during the dark, bored times. Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan that was a hit show when it was released, returned on the television screens and turned out to be one of the most-watched and viewed serials. It is, however, unfortunate and sad that Arun Govil, the actor who portrayed the role of Lord Ram, has not yet received any national honour or award for his performance, when, the actor is actually deserving of one. The actor, who at one point of time was actually considered to be a real God, has not been honored for his service.
The show that has returned on national television, has been widely loved and viewed by people all across the nation. The show has garnered fame and popularity just like it had in the 90s earlier. The actor, Arun Govil has time and again, appeared on the news not just for his performance but also because of not receiving an accolade for his splendid and mind-blowing performance. The information was revealed by Arun Govil himself. Neither the Central Government nor the State Government has felicitated the actor. Moreover, the actor, who belongs to Uttar Pradesh, was not even honored in his own state, neither was he awarded by the Maharashtra Government as he is settled there for almost 50 years now. Editor Raghuvendra Singh had asked the actor on Twitter, about him being summoned with an award, to which Arun replied that he has not yet been given any accolade. The information regarding the same came around as a setback and disappointment among the fans.
