The actor Ranbir Kapoor is a talented actor of Bollywood. Son of veteran actor Rishi Kapoor and actress Neetu Kapoor, and grandson of Raj Kapoor was born to the family on 28th of September 1982. The actor did his schooling at Bombay Scottish School in Mumbai and was an average student. He later pursued film-making and method acting from School of Visual Arts and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute.
Before making his entry in Bollywood as an actor, Ranbir worked as an assistant director to his father for ‘Aa Ab Laut Chale’ and Sanjay Leela Bhansali for the movie ‘Black’.
Later in the year 2007, Ranbir was launched by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his movie ‘Saawariya’ opposite debutant Sonam Kapoor, Rani Mukherji and Salman Khan. The movie was a big disappointment at the Box Office, but Ranbir’s boyish charm caught everyone’s attention and he was definitely benefited from an otherwise Box Office flop movie.
Then came actor’s ‘BachnaAeHaseeno’ in 2008, where he was seen doing a role of a womanizer who had three close relationships at the three different stages of his life. The actresses in the movie were, Minissha Lamba, Bipasha Basu, and Deepika Padukone. The movie was his first commercial hit movie and garnered him much appreciation.
Later the actor did movies like ‘Wake Up Sid’ which was a coming of age movie as it showcased a younger boy falling in love with an older woman. The movie was admired by the critics and Ranbir’s portrayal as a lazy rich teenager who comes to life when he moves in with an ambitious Journalist, a role played by Konkona Sen Sharma.
Next, ‘Ajab Prem Ki Gajab Kahani’ again did well at the Box Office and in fact was 2009’s fourth highest grossing movie. The actor has done quite versatile roles in his career till now, from ‘Rocket Singh Salesman of the Year’ to ‘Rajneeti’, ‘AnjaanaAnjaani’ to ‘Rockstar’.
In 2012 the actor got a major push to his career with Anurag Basu’s movie ‘Barfi’ and Ayan Mukerji's ‘YehJawaani Hai Deewani’.
Post these two movies Ranbir has been struggling for a Blockbuster hit movie, his movies like, ‘Roy’,’Bombay Velvet’ and ‘Beshram’ doomed at the Box Office badly, though ‘Tamasha’ and ‘Aae Dil Hai Mushkil’ received mixed reviews and faired average at the Box Office.
