'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' released worldwide on 26th of May 2017. The movie directed by James Erskine and produced by Ravi Bhagchandka and Carnival Motion Pictures, under 200 NotOut Productions, is a biographical documentary of the cricketer who is commonly called ‘God Of Cricket’ in India, Sachin Tendulkar.
The movie showcased the various milestones, achievements and downfalls of Sachin’s cricketing career. Not only this, it also gives details of the cricketers' personal life and challenges his family faced when he was busy playing for his country.
The movie 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' was released on 2800 screens across the nation in 5 different languages. The movie earned Rs. 8.40 crore on its opening day, the scores at the Box Office were mind-boggling considering the movie to be a documentary drama and was released on a working day.
During the weekend the movie picked up the pace and showcased upward trend. 'Sachin: A Billion Dreams' Box Office Collections were reported to be Rs. 9.20 crore on Saturday and Rs. 10.25 crore on Sunday making the total to be Rs. 27.85 crores in first three days of screening.
It is the first time in India that a documentary format movie is trending high and the reason behind is none other than the Cricketer himself. The cricketer has his own huge number of fan following because of his outstanding cricketing skills and records while playing for the Indian Team.
The movie has an added attraction where many more cricketers are seen sharing their stories and experiences with the legend cricketer, which makes the movie all the more interesting.
