Actor Saif Ali Khan will be making his debut in Netflix with the series ‘Sacred Games’. Now, it will be the cinematic adaptation of the novel ‘Sacred Games’, which is written by Vikram Chandra. Saif will be seen as Sartaj Singh, it sets in Mumbai and talks about crime, corruption, politics and espionage that lie beneath India’s economic renaissance.
Talking about the series, it will have four seasons; the source close to the production reveals that the series is developed to suit the visual medium and the makers will be releasing it in four seasons. It also said that eight episodes are currently being shot in Mumbai for the first season.
Well, Saif Ali Khan is very excited for the season; he went on to say that he thinks that the web content is very powerful and we can show literally anything with it, while television is very limited and outdated. “I am excited about the content of the series; I hope I’ll do justice to my character. We have an amazing team and I am looking forward to working with them”, he said.
The series is produced by Phantom Films, which includes Anurag Kashyap and Vikramaditya Motwani. Anurag recently said that web content is slowly taking over the television and it requires the same amount of dedication and hard work as films.
Earlier, it was also announced that Saif Ali Khan’s upcoming movie ‘Kaalakaandi’ will also be released digitally but the producers of the movie rest all the rumours. Now, it’s good that we are getting these Netflix shows in India, this will definitely bring a change in our contents.
