Famous playback singer Sonu Nigam turned 42 today. He was born on 30th July 1973 in Faridabad, Haryana. Today he has turned into a name that does not need any explanation. But less people would be knowing that he started his singing career at the age of 4. The first son that he sang was with his father Agam Kumar Nigam during a stage show. The song was "kya hua tera wada". After that he was many times seen with his father during marriages and other functions or events.
His mother Shobha died in the year 2013. He has two sisters- Nikita and Tisha. They both are also making their career in singing only. Tisha had started her career by giving her voice in the song of movie "Singh Sahab The Great" in the year 2013. Whereas Nikita in the year 2006 had given a song in the movie "Pyare Mohan". Sonu Nigam was married in the year 2002. His wife's name is Madhurima.
Even his son Naveen also in the year 2011 had given his voice in the popular song by Dhanush that was "Why this Kolaveri D".
Sonu had an aim of starting his singing career at the age of 19. In the starting he usually used to sing the songs of Mohammad Rafi and because of this he was given the name of "Rafi clone". In the year 1990 he first gave his voive for the song of movie "Jaanam". Further in the year 1995 he hosted "Sa Re Ga Ma Pa" which is still among the most popular singing reality shows. He also gave his voice for the movie "Sanam Bewafa" in the year 1995. But it was in the year 1997 when he got his biggest breakthrough. He was given the song "Sandeese aate hain" of the movie "Border" that was composed by Anu Malik.
Now he has many songs for which he has given his voice, including Deewana (1999), Jaan (2000) and Chand Ki Doli (2005).
