Yesterday, we came to know that Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan starrer ‘Kedarnath’ to be postponed. Earlier the movie was scheduled to release in June 2018 but now it looks like the makers have to move the release date as they have some technical issues. The movie is directed by ‘Kai Po Che’ director Abhishek Kapoor, his last film ‘Fitoor’ didn’t do that well at the Box Office but this film he is looking to make his comeback.
‘Kedarnath’ will be the backdrop of 2013 north India flood, which completely destroyed Uttrakhand. A few months ago, the team was in Kedarnath for its shooting and they successfully did that but for the flood scene they have to shoot it in the sets in Mumbai and that takes time and that is the reason why this movie moved its release date.
Now the movie will release on 26th January 2019, and that’s a lot of time from now. The producer of the film Prernaa Arora said that this is a big film which requires VFX, computer graphics and set buildings, which will take time. She also said that she has movies like ‘Padman’, ‘Pari’ and ‘Parmanu’ to release next year.
“We can wait for this film, there’s no hurry. We will start the shooting in Mumbai from December and after finishing that schedule, we will be building the whole set of ‘Kedarnath’ in outskirts of Mumbai, there’s no hurry, we can do that by April, May or June”, she said.
Now, the movie looks interesting, a movie on 2013 Uttrakhand flood has never been seen before in Bollywood. Abhishek Kapoor is a good filmmaker and his sensibility of filmmaking will definitely work for the movie.
