Last Weekend, three prominent movies released at the Box Office, which was Sanjay Dutt’s ‘Bhoomi’ a big budget movie, movie ‘Haseena Parkar’ whose budget was somewhere in between and Rajkummar Rao starrer movie ‘Newton’ which was relatively a small budget.
Despite the disparity in the budget, all the three movies managed to earn around the same numbers. On an opening day, the movie ‘Bhoomi’ earned Rs. 2.25 Crore, on Saturday the collection was Rs. 2.47 and on Sunday the movie only managed to earn Rs. 2.76 Crore. On its first Monday, the movie collected Rs. 1 Crore at the Box Office Window.
‘Haseena Parkar’ on the other hand managed to earn, Rs. 1.87 Crore on Friday the opening day, Rs. 2.60 on Saturday and on Sunday, the collection again dropped and was registered Rs. 1.63 Crore and on its first Monday the movie earned Rs. 1 Crore.
The movie ‘Newton’ on the other hand started on a dull note of Rs. 96 Lakhs on its opening day on Friday and then picking up the pace on Saturday, by earning Rs. 2.52 Crore, and then on Sunday the movie earned 3.42 Crore and the trend was same on Monday when the movie went on to earn, Rs. 1.31 Crore.
Even though ‘Newton’ had a minimum number of screens still the movie managed to earn in good numbers at the collection window.
