Last weekend on September 1 ‘Baadshaho’ and ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ finally hit the theatres. Both the movie had a different story, genre and no competition as such at the Box Office Collections window.
Where ‘Baadshao’ was the movie set on the backdrop of the Emergency period, ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ was a comedy and quirky take on the Gents’ issue that is seldom discussed openly.
The movie ‘Baadshaho’ opened big in the theatres as it was backed by directed Milan Luthra, who has earlier given us some really amazing movies and for its multi star cast Ajay Devgn, Emraan Hashmi, Ileana D'Cruz, Esha Gupta, Vidyut Jammwal and Sanjay Mishra. Whereas ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ received a luke warm opening on Friday.
‘Baadshaho’ made on a budget of Rs.60 crore recovered Rs. 85 crore already from its satellite, digital music, and overseas rights. So far the movie started on a good note and had a positive first-weekend collection even though the reviews were mixed.
The movie earned Rs. 12.60 on Friday and Rs. 15.60 on Saturday and Rs. 15.10 on Sunday, resulting the business to be Rs. 43.30 crore at the ticket windows in three days of its release.
The movie ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ earned Rs. 2.71 on Friday, Rs. 5.56 on Saturday and Rs. 6.19 on Sunday making the total of Rs. 14.46 crore at the Box Office.
As compared to ‘Baadshaho’ the movie ‘Shubh Mangal Saavdhan’ has received more positive reviews till date.
